It is claimed that these measures are justified on the grounds of reducing or deterring "through traffic". However, they also disadvantage - those too old or disabled to walk far and to take up cycling - local traffic. If measures are genuinely and honestly to achieve the stated aims, they should contain the means to distinguish between "through" traffic and the passage of local residents. Such technology is now available, so why is it not employed? The enormous detours imposed on residents - particularly in our road - adds to the congestion and pollution in those streets designated through routes, and needlessly consumes peoples' time. There is a further consequence of these measures. Our street has become a through route not just for pedestrians but for disruptors. Several times I have been awoken during the night by people shouting. This is a recent phenomenon.

I would like to see this LTN extended to include a new LTN in Hoxton East around Hoxton Market. Filter Whitmore Bridge. Every time I cycle over it a driver passes me way to close even with oncoming traffic.
