Bike lanes on Green Lanes a massive bonus, would be even better if this could be extended down to Newington Green

I live in a block of flats in Green Lanes. As a cyclist, the cycle lanes have made using Green Lanes easier and safer (generally, but see below). They don't seem to have reduced traffic volumes by much, if at all, or speeding. My main concerns about the scheme relate to the access issues the cycle lanes have raised. This has caused significant a significant deterioration in the quality of life for: disabled residents, as taxis will no longer drive up to the curb, and they have to cross the cycle lane; refuse collection, as the bin lorries stopped collecting our wheelie bins for a period; food and other deliveries, as the vans have nowhere to park. There is also a specific issue at the junction with Petherton Rd, as cyclists heading south have to swerve across traffic if they remain in the cycle lane. I agree with significantly reducing car use and making life safer for cyclists, but this can't be at the expense of making life more difficult for non - car driving residents.

Cycling Lane is vital for everyone when there are more cars and traffic on Green Lanes as a result of traffic calming measures. More cars on Green lanes equals to traffic jams and increasing pollution. Cycling gives working people an alternative to get to work. There is increasing traffic and traffic jams with buses lorries and cars. I need to drive to work as I work.in East London. It takes me three different changes of transport to get there. Prefer to drive but now know cycling is a better option. Transport is carrying people to capacity and so huge risk of Covid. Better to cycle and reduce risk
