i feel that the entire Hackney LTN project is badly thought out and is having a negative impact on the local area. Cars that HAVE to travel (and we all do need to travel in motor vehicles sometimes as do delivery drivers and business vehicles) are forced onto a few roads and stuck there in long queues of traffic so I fail to see how this reduces pollution as they are on the road in their cars for longer, moving very slowly in the local area. Buses are stuck too making bus travel a bad option for local people who are trying not to drive. Pollution obviously drifts across the entire area including the LTN spaces so i cannot see how the problem is solved, and is really horrendous for the people who are living and working and going to school on the streets that you have chosen as the heavy traffic routes. Even last week google maps is till wrongly directing me and others down closed streets and forcing queues of traffic to do 3 point turns which is really dangerous. And the situation is adding to the stress and misery of people who are forced to drive. I walk whenever i can and where ever i can but i HAVE to drive on occasion. I have an electric vehicle but that is not good enough for you and I find the whole thing frustrating and miserable - i have lived in hackney for 25 years and run a business here but am seriously considering moving out of the area. In addition your survey is completely biased and skewed to give you the answers you want. If you are too scared to ask open questions then you must already suspect that these measures do not work and are not popular.

Why does it feel like nobody is listening.

Take a walk and see who benefits from LTNs, it’s the larger houses with fewer occupancies living closer to large parks.

• There is not much to like about such an undemocratic implementation of a scheme to suit so few people.

Imagine if every road was closed. Then what? Hackney would come to a complete stand still, people only going to places in walking distance and come rain or shine having no other options. The alternative, open a few roads, but then those roads are over used proving THERE IS DEMAND RIGHT NOW FOR OUR ROADS. Causing higher pollution fir some and dead roads for others. And the most sane option (in my opinion) opening the roads, offering a more eco friendly car engine fixing a problem of traffic that never actually existed in the first place. While addressing the original issue of a pollution crisis. It seems Hackney council have chosen very wrongly, again in my opinion.

Please let us know if you have any other comments.

Open our roads, this experiment has failed.
